Aluminium sheet — and the three things made from it

We roll and slit the aluminium, extrude the channel that stiffens the sign, laminate the film that faces it, and make the lugs and clamps that terminate the conductor — one plant in Gongyi, shipping from Qingdao to European, North American and Gulf ports.

Which standard the goods answer to

A sign is not a commodity: it is measured against a national standard the day it is inspected. These are the four we build to, and the port each one ships from.
Standard, substrate and transit by destination
DestinationGoverning standardSubstrate we supply Transit from QingdaoNotes
European Union / UK EN 12899-1, RA2 class and above 3003-H14 or 5052-H38, 1.5–3.0 mm 30–35 days to Rotterdam or Hamburg Outside CBAM (not a Chapter 76 good once it is a sign); CE marking is the buyer's step
United States / Canada MUTCD, ASTM D4956 Type IV and above 5052-H38, 2.0–3.0 mm 14–18 days to Los Angeles, 30–35 to New York Private and commercial work is open; federally funded highway work is closed by Buy America
Gulf / MENA MUTCD-derived national specs, Type VIII–XI film 5052-H38, 2.0–3.0 mm 18–24 days to Jebel Ali Thickest specifications, highest unit value
Central Asia / CIS GOST 32945 and GOST R 52290 3003-H14, 1.5–2.0 mm replacing 1.0 mm steel 22–28 days by rail or 30–35 by sea Steel is the inherited default; aluminium is the upgrade being specified now
Southeast Asia / Africa National standards modelled on MUTCD or EN 3003-H14, 1.2–2.0 mm 10–20 days Form E or Form A where a preference agreement applies

Transit times are port-to-port and indicative; they move with the schedule and the season. Duties are the buyer's, and we quote both FOB and CIF so the two can be compared.

One product, three stages

Most suppliers sell you either the metal or the sign. We roll the sheet, extrude the channel that stiffens it, and laminate the film that turns it into a traffic sign — all in the same industrial park in Gongyi, Henan.

That matters for two practical reasons. First, the sheet that becomes a sign blank is cut from a coil we rolled, so the thickness you specify is the thickness you get — not a tolerance someone else chose. Second, a mixed order is normal here: 300 m² of blank, the channel to frame it, and two hundred finished faces can leave on one pallet and clear customs under one entry per product line.

We are not a trading company with a catalogue. If you ask for a size we cannot cut, we say so; if a market's standard makes your drawing impossible, we say that too, before you issue the purchase order.

Alloys we roll and what they are for
Alloy / temperTypical useThicknessNotes
1060-H14 / H24Low-cost flat panel, temporary and low-grade roads0.8–3.0 mmSoftest, cheapest, easiest to bend by hand
3003-H14General sign blanks, Southeast Asia and Africa1.2–3.0 mmThe workhorse: corrosion-resistant, predictable
3004-H32Large panels, high wind load1.5–3.0 mmHigher magnesium, better stiffness per kilo
5052-H38Gulf specifications, Ø750 mm and above1.5–3.0 mm5A02 is the Chinese designation for the same family
6061-T6Structural brackets, gantries, heavy hardware3.0–6.0 mmMachinable, weldable, not for face panels

Temper is quoted with the alloy, always. “5052” alone is not a specification — H32 and H38 behave differently under the same punch.

What we do not do

No paint spraying — every face is film, never wet paint, so there is no solvent line, no colour drift between batches and nothing to cure. No steel blanks: aluminium only, which means we will tell you when galvanised steel is the better buy in your market instead of quietly quoting aluminium. And no anonymous lots: every shipment leaves with a mill certificate, a packing list that matches the pallet marks, and photographs of the actual goods.

Why buyers come to this cluster

Gongyi has been rolling aluminium since the 1990s. The reason it matters to a sign buyer is not the tonnage — it is that the coil, the extrusion press, the cutting table and the film applicator sit within a few kilometres, so a change of thickness or a new hole pattern costs a phone call instead of a mould.

What we add is the export layer: an English-speaking engineer who answers specifications in writing, packing that survives transhipment, and documents that match what is in the container. That is the part most cluster factories still cannot do, and the part that decides whether your consignment clears without a fight.

FAQ

Buyer questions

Still unresolved? Send the question with your drawing — we answer in writing, not in a sales call.
What is the minimum order?

One pallet, and it can be mixed — 300 m² of blank in two thicknesses and the channel to frame it still counts as one pallet. Below that the freight per unit stops making sense for both sides.

Can I buy sheet and finished signs on the same order?

Yes, and it is common. Material and finished goods are declared as separate lines on the same entry, which means separate HS codes (7606 for blanks, 8310 for printed or filmed signs) but one bill of lading.

Do you paint signs?

No. Every face is reflective film, applied cold. No solvent line, no batch-to-batch colour drift, and nothing that needs curing before packing.

Which markets do you ship to?

Central Asia, West Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa are the working markets — that is where our standards knowledge and freight lanes are strongest. We quote worldwide, but we will tell you when a market's duty or local-content rules make us the wrong supplier.

How fast is a quote?

One working day for a size list, longer if a drawing needs engineering. A quote states alloy, temper, thickness, film grade, packing, port and validity — the things that change the price later if they are left vague.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

Yes: an A4 film swatch set and a 300 × 300 mm blank offcuts sample, courier at cost. For a full production sample we cut from the actual coil and send photographs of the run before it ships.
