6063 sign channel, extruded on our own press
U- and C-section channel in 6063-T5 for sign backing and framing: 60 to 120 mm sections, 1.5 to 4.0 mm wall, cut to 3 m or 6 m, drilled to your post centres. Mill finish or anodised, bundled by section.
Sections we extrude
U- and C-section channel in 6063-T5, from 1.5 to 4.0 mm wall, for sign backing, framing and edge stiffening.
Channel is the part of a sign nobody looks at until the panel flaps in the wind. It sets the span between posts, the stiffness of a 3 m guide sign, and the cost of the whole assembly more than the sheet does. Because we extrude it ourselves we can cut to the exact length of your panel and drill it to your post centres.
| Width (no.) | Wall thickness | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| 60# | 2.0 / 3.0 / 4.0 mm | Small warning and regulatory signs, single post |
| 70# | 2.0 / 3.0 / 4.0 mm | Direction signs up to ~1.2 m panel height |
| 80# | 2.0 / 3.0 / 4.0 mm | The standard section for guide signs |
| 100# | 2.0 / 3.0 / 4.0 mm | Large direction panels, two-post assemblies |
| 110# | 2.0 / 3.0 / 4.0 mm | Gantry faces and high wind zones |
| Custom | To drawing | New die from USD 300, 12–18 days |
Widths and wall thicknesses as held in stock in the 2026 profile. Weight per metre is confirmed against the section drawing before order.
Cutting, drilling and finish
Standard lengths are 3 m and 6 m. We cut to ±0.3 mm on a saw with a carbide blade, which matters when 40 pieces have to line up on a jig at your end. Holes are drilled or punched to your post pattern, and ends are deburred so the bundle does not shed swarf into the container.

Why channel and sheet travel together
A sign assembly is sheet, channel and film. If those three come from three suppliers, the buyer carries three freight legs, three packing standards and three sets of documents, and finds out at assembly that the channel holes do not match the blank holes.
We cut the blank and the channel on the same program, drill both to the same pattern, and pack them in one crate or one bundle. That is the practical advantage of buying from a single workshop rather than a catalogue.

Buyer questions
Is the channel extruded by you or bought in?
Extruded on our own press from 6063 billet, then cut, drilled and packed in the same workshop. That is why we can cut to 3 m or 6 m and drill to your post spacing without a second freight leg.
Which temper do you supply?
6063-T5 as standard: air quenched off the press and artificially aged, which gives enough strength for sign backing without the distortion T6 can bring on thin walls. T6 on request.
Can you match our existing profile?
Yes, if you send a section drawing. A new die costs roughly USD 300–600 and takes 12–18 days; the die stays yours for the life of the project. If your section is close to one of ours, we will say so and save you the die.
How is channel packed and shipped?
20–25 pieces per bundle, 1.0–1.5 t, strapped with end protection and no mixed sections in a bundle. Bundles load straight into a 20′ with crates of blanks on top.
Do you anodise?
Anodising to 10 or 15 µm (ISO 7599) through a partner line, natural or bronze. Mill finish is standard and is what most sign shops want, because the channel is hidden behind the panel.
