Why buy film from a laminator

We are YEAGOOD's appointed agent outside China — which means we stock the film, slit it, laminate it onto blanks, and know which grade belongs on which road.

Reflective sheeting is a chemistry business. The bead or prism structure, the adhesive and the liner decide whether a sign still reads at seven years, and none of that is visible on a photograph. What a buyer can judge is whether the supplier can tell them which grade their road class needs, deliver the roll in the width their press takes, and stand behind the batch number when a tender asks for evidence.

Grades in the YM series

Three families cover almost every road. If your specification names an ASTM type or an EN 12899 class, tell us that and we will map it — do not choose by price alone, because the difference between Type I and Type VIII is the difference between a sign that survives five years and one that survives twelve.

Grade names and equivalence are indicative. The certified type is stated on the YEAGOOD product datasheet issued with each batch — put that document in your tender file, not this table.

Formats, storage and application

Film arrives in rolls or cut sheets. The difference between a good lamination and a warranty claim is usually temperature, nip pressure and how the edge was sealed.

Roll sizes
1.220 × 45.7 m (48 in × 50 yd) and 0.914 × 45.7 m; other widths slit to order
Adhesive
Pressure-sensitive acrylic, permanent, service range −30 °C to +80 °C
Liner
Paper or PET, release controlled for machine application
Application
Substrate above 10 °C, dry, clean; roll laminator or hand squeegee with air release
Edge sealing
Clear tape or edge sealant on every panel — water under the film is the main failure mode
Storage
20 °C, below 60% RH, on end, out of sunlight; 12 months shelf life

What we do with the film

We sell film by the roll, and we also sell it already applied — which is often cheaper than buying both and finding a laminator.

SlittingDown to 50 mm, ±1 mm, rewound and labelled by grade and batch.
LaminatingApplied to your blanks on a roll laminator, trimmed, edge sealed, packed face-to-back.
CuttingSheets cut to sign size, with a 20 mm margin for wrap if you want to fold the edge.
Grade adviceSend the road class and the sign size; we return the grade and the minimum panel thickness.

FAQ

Buyer questions

Still unresolved? Send the question with your drawing — we answer in writing, not in a sales call.
What does the Type number mean?

It is an ASTM D4956 classification of how much light the sheeting sends back to the driver at a given observation angle. Higher types are brighter at wide angles and last longer outdoors — Type I is a glass-bead engineering grade, Type III–IV are prismatic, Type VIII–XI are microprismatic with the best angularity and the longest life.

Is the film genuine YEAGOOD stock?

Yes. Every roll carries the manufacturer's batch number, and we issue a certificate of analysis with the shipment. We do not rebrand film or mix grades under one label — if you ordered Type IV, the roll is Type IV.

Can you slit to our width?

Yes, from 50 mm to the full 1.22 m, with a tolerance of ±1 mm. Slit rolls are rewound on a core and labelled with grade, width, length and batch.

What is the minimum order?

One roll, and you can mix grades on a pallet. Cut sheets are quoted from 50 m².

How should the film be stored?

In the original carton, standing on end, at 20 °C and below 60% relative humidity, away from direct sun. Shelf life is 12 months from manufacture; we print the date on the label so your storeman does not have to guess.

Do you sell into countries where YEAGOOD has a distributor?

We are YEAGOOD's appointed agent for export markets. Where a local distributor already exists we will say so at enquiry stage and route the order through them rather than undercutting the network.
